Had the best date day with my husband. Not only did Joshua go to Ollie’s and get me my lights for the house for Christmas, and the boots I wanted, but he got me the complete collection of Winnie the Pooh Christmas ugly shirt. I have loved Classic Winnie the Pooh for my whole life. He made me ugly cry in the store. Then we got Chinese food and watched movies in my blanket fort. For some this might seem stupid and childish. But to me, it was everything. I love this man so much. Thank you for being the most amazing husband ever. I love you Josh Blasko!

I ran stores in some of the old downtown buildings in both cities and in some of the newer ones too. The stores in the old buildings were right in front of the main doors and had beautiful built-in shelves and lovely windows; the newer ones were always shoved in the ugly end of the lobby and the Winnie the Pooh Christmas ugly shirt. When I was in Pittsburgh recently, I saw the remnants of the last of those stores that I managed, and similarly to Rudman’s, it was empty with a few fixtures left but no other sense of the great effort that had gone on there. So I stood for a moment and remembered.

You know I don’t want to be the new Peggy Laborde of  how great everything once was back then but I guess what struck me this morning was the finality of the empty storefront and how shoppers are left to make sense of the change when a store closes without notice. Winnie the Pooh Christmas ugly shirt! I’ll lay much blame on these stores and chains’ boss people cuz that’s where it belongs as many messed up BIG time, but the truth is sometimes the dream of that jingly bell on the door only lasts for a single generation. And that’s probably okay.
