Pink Floyd transcends space and time. They are truly timeless. Definitely one of the greatest bands that have ever existed on this planet. I spent a stint in a mental hospital. They took away our phones and mp3 players, so all our music came from an old radio.

I remember one of my last days at the hospital before they released me, Pink Floyd I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon shirt  sitting in one of the activity rooms with a schizophrenic maAfter thousands of hours listening to Pink Floyd, I think this sequence of two songs is my favorite 6 minutes of all their musicn I could barely understand. The radio was on, and Brain Damage/Eclipse came on. The irony was rich and not lost on me, but then a beautiful thing happened; the schizophrenic man started to sing along to the song. I joined him, and there was a moment. A moment when I thought everything was going to be okay. It was bittersweet, and I wept a bit. I’ve been out of the hospital for several months now, and I still struggle, but every time I hear these two songs played together I feel a glimmer of hope. It’s bittersweet and small, but it’s there.
