Official I Hate Christmas Shirt
Hi. I’m Schylar and Official I Hate Christmas Shirt! I like rollerskating and making people feel good about themselves. I like the color black and the color purple and Christmas lights even though I hate Christmas. I like weekend getaways, deafening music, and feeling like I am a part of the moment. I hate syrup, not for the flavor but because I hate feeling sticky. In fact, I hate feeling things on my skin- so much that it will blow dry my body because I can’t stand that damp feeling. I’m thankful for blowdryers.

I tell bad jokes, laugh at all the wrong times, and wear my heart on my sleeve. Occasionally, I cope with inappropriate comments. Occasionally, I cope by sleeping all day. Sometimes, I don’t know when to stop or how to drop things. Sometimes, I’m salty. Sometimes, I’m bitter and Official I Hate Christmas Shirt. Sometimes, I am incapable of seeing the good around me. But all the time I have people around me that love me. That believe in me. That root for me. I have people who like me as I am and they don’t see my brokenness as broken but as just a part of who I am. Times like this, how I’m feeling, reminds me of how hard it is to live with a mood disorder.

The neurons and chemicals in my brain can make me feel like I’m going nowhere, that I’m sad, that I don’t know who I am. This happens in a flip of a switch. It’s not always like this. It gets better. Writing this out helps me see that. I love you guys. If you struggle, I’m here for you and Official I Hate Christmas Shirt. Not to fix you, not to try to make it better, but to sit beside you. Hold your hand. Build a blanket fort. Remind you to keep hydrated while you work on you, to get better, to find a moment of “okay” instead of “fine”. To just be there. To let you feel. To feel unapologetically. To acknowledge. Without justifications. I’m here for you, too.
