Today, Timothée Chalamet hit the red carpet for the London premiere of his new film The King. One can always count on the actor (who styles himself) to serve up a fresh, youthful outfit on the step and repeat; remember the sequined harness he wore to this year’s Golden Globes? We can’t stop thinking about it! Chalamet enjoys experimenting with fashion and isn’t afraid to take risks. For his latest outing, the 23-year-old star certainly didn’t disappoint. He worked with Louis Vuitton to deliver an unexpected fashion moment, including one particularly surprising piece—a high-fashion hoodie.
Leaving the traditional tux at home—though he has previously delivered some fine suited-up moments—Chalamet chose a dressy take on casual wear. He slipped on a hoodie by the French label that was embroidered with more than 3,000 Swarovski crystals and 15,000 sequins. The showstopping garment took more than 30 hours to make. It was perfectly in line with the aesthetic of Vuitton’s men’s artistic director Virgil Abloh, who often fuses luxury with sportswear (see his latest Spring menswear collection). Chalamet paired outfit the with LV’s streamlined black trousers and patent combat boots—subtle touches that let his hoodie shine (quite literally).
