Taylor Swift arrives at Chiefs game — and sits next to Travis Kelce’s dad

The Chiefs open the 2024 NFL season with a game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Taylor Swift is officially in the building.

As the 2024 NFL season kicked off on Sept. 5, all eyes were on Swift as she arrived at Arrowhead Stadium to continue supporting the Kansas City Chiefs and her boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce.

Reporters at the stadium shared videos of Swift arriving at the game.

“Hello, how are you guys?” she asks in one video.

Swift is dressed in a denim corset with matching denim shorts and red thigh-high boots. Her hair is curled and she rocks her signature red lipstick.

While the team begins its quest to win a third consecutive Super Bowl as they go against the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium, many fans were interested in if the “Blank Space” singer would be attending and where she might be in the crowd.

When asked by TODAY’s Craig Melvin about where Swift will sit at the kickoff game, Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt says he didn’t even know.

“No, it’s always a little bit of a surprise, but I’m sure the TV cameras will find her,” he said on the 3rd Hour of TODAY on Sept. 5.

However, as the game began, Swift was spotted cheering on her boyfriend while seated next to his father, Ed Kelce.

She was later seen giving a thumbs up to someone in the distance as she was surrounded by other Chiefs fans, friends and family.

Swift became a major presence at the Chiefs games last season, first showing up when the team hosted the Chicago Bears in September 2023. The Grammy winner attended a total of 13 games last season and her impact on the Chiefs has been profound, prompting new people to root them on.

“It caught us by surprise. When she showed up at that first game against the Chicago Bears, our fans went crazy,” Hunt said.

“And it certainly has impacted our fanbase. We have a lot more female fans now and, specifically, young female fans.”

Hunt said he was “excited” by the Swift-Kelce relationship and added he attended Swift’s concert at Arrowhead Stadium before last season, noting Kelce’s failed attempt to meet her at that show. Swift has grown to become part of the fabric of the team, too, with her even drawing up plays.

Hunt explained he’s heard that chatter, but noted all decisions about plays go through head coach Andy Reid.

“Andy’s had some fun with it, and Andy’s very open-minded because the players do bring him plays, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Travis brings a play to Andy, maybe Taylor had a little something to do with. But Andy likes to say he has 51% control,” he joked.
