Syracuse football wearing classic home uniform in Camping World Bowl
With kickoff about two hours away, you’re obviously anxious about the start of the 2018 Camping World Bowl. In an effort to combat some of that anxiety, let’s talk (as we do every week) about uniforms.
For the final game of the season, the Syracuse Orange will be wearing the “classic” home uniform set: orange helmets, blue jerseys, orange pants.
SU had hinted at the look over a week ago when posting a photo of the bowl game patch on blue uniforms. West Virginia is wearing white helmets and could be donning all-white for this one as the “road” team
The Orange have worn the orange/blue/orange set two other times this season: September’s 62-10 win over Wagner, and the 54-23 triumph over Louisville in the home finale at the Carrier Dome. SU had lost the previous game in these duds, however: the 2017 home upset loss to Middle Tennessee.
Overall, Syracuse is 4-4 in orange/blue/orange since the start of 2014. They’re 13-23 in orange helmets, 7-12 in blue jerseys and 13-12 in orange pants. SU wore orange lids in seven different games so far this season season, going 5-2 in those contests.
Also, these Otto custom cleats are amazing. Can they become standard-issue?
