A 55-yard punt return. A lead-changing touchdown pass to John Brown from Lamar Jackson. A herculean game-tying drive by Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill. A strip-sack from Justin Houston. A game-winning 43-yard field goal missed field goal by Harrison Butker. Absolute madness.

The overtime also brought about what we all expected as the Chiefs drove down and completed a field goal. Unfortunately, Baltimore couldn’t respond and the game ended, 27-24 Chiefs.
MVP: Zebras
Just couldn’t let the game play itself out, could you? The KC barbecue home-cooking was in full effect and it showed early and often. The Ravens were battling uphill against a top three offense in the league with the referees at their backs. I’m salty and I don’t care. The most penalized team in the league got away with far too many non-calls to make this a balanced affair.
Stock-up:
Lamar Jackson — To take the Chiefs to the wire was incredible. This rookie is the future. Hopefully, he’s okay.
Don ‘Wink’ Martindale — He called an incredible game. He can’t account for something so insane as Mahomes. To hold the Chiefs to 24 points in regulation is everything you could hope for. He made the Chiefs offense look human.
Za’Darius Smith — Constant pressure on Mahomes and a big sack early in the game. Hard to not want him back on the team next season.
Willie Snead IV — Way to come back after a zero catch game last week with a hard-fought effort. He’s done everything possible.
John Brown — After a rough stretch in November, he hooked up with Lamar for a lead-changing touchdown in the fourth quarter. Good to see after mismatched chemistry with Jackson these past few games.
James Hurst — Way to come back and get the blocks you need to push this running game to their limit.
Kenneth Dixon — Welcome back, Dixon. On eight carries, he hauled in 59 yards and a touchdown.
Justin Tucker — He completes field goals when given the opportunity. We love ‘em.
Matt Judon — If Patrick Mahomes wasn’t superhuman, he’d have five sacks today. He hit him so many times as Patrick released the football. Can’t do anything more than that.
Stock down
Ronnie Stanley — Gave up pressure at the worst time possible. He and Hurst didn’t figure out the correct blocking scheme when Justin Houston came through for the strip-sack which should’ve ended the game. I put it more on Stanley as he should be the one to lean on with Hurst coming back from injury and filling in at left guard his first game back.
Eric Weddle — A tackle would’ve changed this entire game. But a hit on Tyreek rather than a shoulder hit let them complete a ridiculous third down.
Entire defense — They held the Chiefs offense to 27 points through five quarters, but they completely collapsed in the end. The offense did their job. They left the field with the lead. But two fourth down completions later, the Chiefs tied the game and then won it in overtime. Painful, painful loss.
