Do you often find yourself strolling through the dazzling aisles of Young Greg Cote Shirt boutiques or endlessly scrolling through online shopping websites in search of the perfect outfit or garment, hoping it will magically transform your style? It’s a common tale. As a personal stylist and color and image consultant with 20 years of experience, I’ve come to realize that the key to unlocking your authentic style lies beyond the glossy windows of fashion emporiums and more shopping can make you feel less stylish rather than more. Picture this: You snag a dress from a store, the one you’ve been eyeing for weeks and after spending hours shopping it seems to be great. Excitement bubbles within as you swiftly make your purchase. But as you slip into it at home, something seems amiss. The magic you anticipated just isn’t there. It’s a familiar disappointment that leaves you questioning the effectiveness of retail therapy. The excitement came from the dopamine hit you got when you bought the garment, but that immediate high disappears very quickly, leaving you more often feeling that you don’t love what’s in your wardrobe because what you purchased was something that wasn’t quite right for you and it didn’t solve all your wardrobe dilemmas. The truth is, your personal style isn’t confined within the stitches of a trendy dress or the latest fashion trend. It’s an intricate reflection of your identity, lifestyle, your unique physical body and how you perceive yourself. Discovering and nurturing your style requires a deeper introspection that goes beyond the glossy world of fashion. While retail therapy might temporarily lift your spirits, it rarely leads to a lasting transformation in your style. It’s akin to placing a band-aid on a wound that requires significant healing. To truly cultivate a sustainable and authentic style, a more profound approach is needed.
Young Greg Cote Shirt ,hoodie, sweater, longsleeve and ladies t-shirt
You can see this one uses a blazer rather than moto style jacket and I’ve included a top with a pattern as there isn’t as much colour in the outfit, Young Greg Cote Shirt so the pattern creates a more interesting look than if I’d been wearing a plain grey knit. Plus my boots are blended to my pants to create a column of colour for even longer legs and a leaner look. The pale blue blazer adds a touch of colour and the statement flower brooch adds a great focal point with its punchy colour. In this version of my outfit formula, rather than denim jeans, I’ve chosen a denim jacket that has small stars printed on it plus large sequin stars that I’ve added as additional embellishment. I’ve decided to go all-in on the pattern mixing in this outfit – with a striped knit top, check trousers and butterfly embroidered ankle boots. Because there is so much pattern already going on, plus some use of colour with the blue of the denim and pink of my top, I’ve chosen a more blended necklace in the same pink as my top as I don’t need an additional hero in this outfit. Mixing three subtle patterns together – stripes, checks and stars is quite simple as they are all angular patterns. These butterfly ankle boots repeat the colours in the outfit already rather than adding in something new. A plain boot could have worked equally as well here. This is one of the great benefits of knowing your best colours and having a more select palette of colours in your wardrobe (that all make you look great) as it becomes so much easier to mix and match your garments to create new outfits as the colours naturally work well together in gorgeous harmony. The formula is just the starting point. Play around with variations of the formulas. Switch out ankle boots for tall boots or a button-up shirt for a patterned blouse. Well made shirt. Wash on Cold.
Good color and comfortable fit. Before wash was more of a regular. After wash between regular and slim fit. Washed in warm and dried on medium. Recommend wash cold and hang dry if you want it to stay the same size.
