A little emotional today as it is a very special moment for us. Bare with me, this will be a long one… or feel free to skip to the end. At the end of high school, Krish discovered a talent that our family had no idea he possessed and the Simply Southern Let It Snow Shirt. After being inspired by The Weeknd’s House of Balloons, he would sing the songs around school while walking from class to class, and I would rap along or beatbox.

Each day a new face would approach us and tell us that we should pursue this further, but we were obviously extremely focused on academics and our goal of getting recruited to play college basketball. Soon after we reached RPI, we realized that we had to put more focus on our school work, as we were in one of the most rigorous engineering programs in the world and the Simply Southern Let It Snow Shirt. To be honest, we were in the sunken place for a few months as we felt this hole in our lives… without basketball we felt incomplete. But, the stormy weather of upstate NY allowed us to explore indoor activities.

After coming home that first winter break, Krish randomly told our mom that he wanted to sing and that he wanted to buy equipment for recording. Our mom laughed and told him to go back Simply Southern Let It Snow Shirt to doing homework. All of a sudden, Krish started singing her favorite Hindi song and she was crying etcetcetc. A few days later, a mic and some recording equipment showed up at our front door and we were ecstatic. Now we had something to do while the snow kept us indoors. When we got back to school, we spent a few months playing around with the equipment. I then discovered that I had this secret talent as well. In two weeks, we fully completed our first single “No Problems”. After releasing the song we received many emails inquiring about who we were and where we were from. Of course, we also received a lot of negative comments.
