When Bastille sent me the Rick happy St Patrick’s day shirt, I was taken back. The amount of emotion that you could feel in the lyrics was crazy. As I listened and worked on the song more and more, it reminded me of so many things I’ve been through in my life. Toxic relationships, letting go of things I didn’t want to, and just situations where happiness came with a sacrifice. Recently I lost my best friend, my companion, my life long friend. I wanted this video to embrace the pain that we feel losing or sacrificing something and the cycle of life that comes with it. I hope this song and video can bring closure in any situation you may be and make us all happier. We said goodbye to our sweet girl on September 1st.

I rocked her to sleep, and Rick happy St Patrick’s day shirt. Ugly crying. We don’t deserve these angels, but they give us the world. Worst day of my life when I lost my best friend back in 2009 from cancer. Still, cry over him to this day almost 10 years later. No other dog has ever filled that empty space or ever took his place. Just like the saying”he/she is my person” he was mine, but my dog. I lost my Klaus two days after Christmas. I sat there and petted him while they did it. He was never far from me and he was always there when I needed him. It took weeks to stop looking for him when I came home, but sometimes I still think I see him out the corner of my eye.
