I think the Percy Jackson movie was almost better than the book. Which is rare. Like the book “a simple plan is a great book! But it A little bit long and the movie sucked bad. I can see what most people cry about, on both sides, but think anyone of either strong opinion should chill a bit and realise that we each use storytelling mediums for different purposes ie different kinds of enjoyment and entertainment, just as we might prefer certain genres of film/book – they all serve a personal purpose.
