One of my favorite parts of New York as a fashion editor is the constant outfit inspiration courtesy of the Manhattan sidewalks. Matthew Kachuk Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey Player Jersey Shirt A brief walk through Downtown can tell you what people will be wearing in six months, the freshest way to style your old clothes, and the new staple you didn’t know you needed in a mere 20 minutes. This aspirational and effortless yet inspired dressing is the reason I’ve turned to New Yorkers for what trends they’ll be guaranteed to indulge in 2023. This year’s fashion was defined by a resurgence of going-out clothes, an onslaught of Y2K throwback fashion, and an increased focus on the capsule wardrobe, among other trends. While I expect those themes to carry over into the New Year, there are a few buzzy trends worth noting as you fill up your 2023 cart. After polling my New York friends and gathering my observations around the city, I’ve rounded up a trend-based shopping list below that will have you feeling cosmopolitan in an instant. Per the runways and the city sidewalks, parachute pants are making their return from the MC Hammer era. Whether it be a low-slung nylon pair à la Hailey Bieber or billowing satin cargo pants, the oversize style is a guaranteed trend for 2023. Due to the loose fit, opt for a more tailored silhouette on top and pair with heels.

Good fit is one of the major differences between looking great and looking lost in your clothes. Matthew Kachuk Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey Player Jersey Shirt It’ll highlight your best features, which can make you appear taller, broader in the shoulders and slimmer at the waist. It can also make your clothes more comfortable to wear. Ultimately, a good fit breeds confidence. But with off-the-peg garments available in only a handful of standard sizes, finding pieces that fit like a glove immediately is almost impossible. This is where your local tailor comes in. You might think of them as the person you go to when you need something repaired, or as someone who only deals in suits and shirts. But by adopting this mindset, you’re doing yourself and your wardrobe a disservice. There’s so much more a tailor can help with than simply fixing a hole in your jeans or taking up the legs on your favourite suit pants. They’re your most valuable resource in the quest for the perfect fit, and they can tinker away with more or less any garment (within reason!) to make it just right for you. So, what do you need to know before you go? In this handy guide, we’ll take a look at some of the most common questions first-timers have before visiting a tailor, hopefully making your first time as useful as possible. From going fully bespoke to understanding limitations, here’s what you need to know.

Very cute top, soft material and the print looks amazing. The top is a very generous size.

Great quality
The color is true and as expected. After washing the shirts it shrank just a little bit since it is cotton but otherwise the fit was good. The quality of the shirt was good and felt very soft. I could be in it all day.
