Look for jackets that are shaped in at the waist – they will have darts and panels and seams that draw the fabric in at the waist, Fright-Rags The ‘Burbs Skull Shirt so even if they are worn open, your waist will still be shown. Yes, there is a trend for boxy and wide jackets, but this is not the style for you if you have a waisted shape. Single breasted not double-breasted jackets are key too. Double breasted jackets are designed to be worn closed – then they have shape, but if you want to wear an open jacket, it must be single-breasted otherwise you’ll lose your waist completely. Your whole outfit matters. Your top underneath needs to be fitted to your torso or tucked into your bottom to highlight your waist. Then you want to balance your shoulders with a flared, bootcut or wider leg trouser rather than a skinny leg that will just emphasise the shape you are wanting to balance. A shorter jacket style that ends at the waist – such as a bomber or shorter moto or denim jacket can be great too – as they end at the waist and ususally shaped to come in at the waist. To make your legs appear longer, create a column of colour – you can do an inner column (same colour top and bottom – different coloured jacket), or an outer column (same coloured jacket and bottom, different coloured top). A modifed column where the background of the print in your jacket, as an example is the same as the colour of your bottom, this still creates a flow from bottom to top rather than breaking up the body. Don’t forget, when you have shorter legs and want to elongate them, to blend shoes to trousers, tights/hoisery or legs, rather than opting for a shoe in an alternate colour or neutral.

The best thermals will be made from natural fabrics – either 100% cotton or, even better, merino wool. Fright-Rags The ‘Burbs Skull Shirt The latter is a natural performance fabric that will keep you both dry and warm. Hiking boots are the only sensible choice for a ski trip. Featuring a high ankle, robust rubber sole and waterproof upper, hiking boots are perfect for walking in the snow and traversing the landscape after a day on the slopes. Go for a pair made from waxy leather with waterproof Gore-Tex lining and you can wear them in the ski lodge, on a walk to the shops and slot them straight into your wardrobe when you get back home. The beanie is a bonafide winter must-own for any man. They keep out the cold, keep your head and ears warm and can be used to bring a pop of colour or personality to any look. Go as wild or restrained as you like with your colour of beanie, but for practical reasons we would suggest skipping the smaller fisherman styles as they aren’t going to offer enough protection in freezing conditions. As for material, you may be wearing this item a lot, so prioritise soft, natural materials that aren’t too irritating or scratchy. This may mean swerving 100% lambswool styles in favour of cotton blends, cashmere and merino wool versions. We don’t need to tell you the virtues of a good pair of gloves. When your hands are cold it’s difficult to get the heat back into them again, but quality gloves will instantly negate this issue altogether. You could go for a classic leather pair, either in black or brown, or for something more technical either in glove or mitten form. The latter is the more practical option, as a nylon or polyester pair will be waterproof and will dry out quickly on the radiator at the end of the night. No matter what style you go for, however, we would encourage you to go for a pair lined with a warm, comfortable material like wool or fleece, or one filled with down feathers. Touchscreen compatibility will also be a godsend when you’re trying to operate your phone at the top of a run.

Purchased this t-shirt in a men’s small for my 11-year old son who has a solid build (not obese). It fits him perfectly. He loves it. I love it. My husband plans to buy himself one of these shirts. The material is top quality. My son says it’s “the best feeling t-shirt” he’s ever worn. It’s a very nice soft cotton. Highly recommend you purchase one.
