Milan witnessed a big change, too. Daniel Jones Hope T-shirt Gucci’s new creative director Sabato De Sarno held positions at Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino before taking on this role, which catapulted him and his first collection for the brand into the spotlight last September. Buyers, editors and celebrities descended upon the Italian city to take in the spectacle—ask any fashion devotee without a ticket and they would likely have told you they’d give away their Birkin to have a front-row seat at this show. There’s no denying that De Sarno’s predecessor Alessandro Michele kept Gucci on the fashion map with his geek-chic sensibilities; an aesthetic that would define a moment in fashion history. Still, moments pass, and we saw De Sarno usher Gucci into a new era, one that places more value on essentials over eccentricities—a notion we’re seeing across the rest of the industry. A business built upon the customer’s desire to be seen in shiny new things will always have its issues. However, the thing that felt “new” this season was that some things just didn’t change at all. Perhaps the most noteworthy takeaway was that trends don’t seem to hold the same power that they used to. I’m generalising, of course—things get meta real fast if you so much as take a peek into the no-trends-actually-being-a-trend rabbit hole—but it feels as if creating trends for the sake of it could be a thing of the past. “The spring/summer 2024 collections have shown a continued commitment to 1990s nostalgia and the extraordinary everyday, where everyday items are elevated to exceptional levels of design and style whilst remaining chic and comfortable,” observes Net-a-Porter’s market director Libby Page. And she’s right. The market has experienced a shift of tectonic proportions in recent years where a genuine focus on quality over quantity and investing in things that last has become a priority for previously frivolous shoppers. The latest collections reflected this.

Launched in 2014, Daniel Jones Hope T-shirt Swedish brand Axel Arigato is one of the best-established labels producing high-quality minimalist sneakers. ‘Arigato‘ is Japanese for ‘Thank you’ and was originally used to describe something valuable and hard to find. That about sums up the brand’s proposition. Axel Arigato works with a small number of European tanneries and suppliers, and most of the production is based in Porto, Portugal. Its extended range includes designs inspired by vintage athletic shoes and chunkier styles, but the Clean 90 is our go-to. Something akin to a quintessential minimalist white sneaker, it will work with tailoring, sweatpants and everything in between. The Uniform Standard story is familiar in sneaker and fashion circles: with 18 years of experience designing products for other brands, the founders decided to branch out on their own in 2018. Social and environmental responsibility is at the forefront of everything they do, with the East London-based brand utilising the finest Italian leathers and premium recycled components to create their lines. The Series 1 is the flagship silhouette. A clean, timeless style that can be dressed up or down, it’s available with smooth calf leather or textured suede uppers in a wealth of colourways. Established in Amsterdam in 2010, ETQ was created to answer the luxury trend of loud, garish branding and excessive pricing. Shunning fleeting fashion trends, the Dutch brand produces high-quality, well-designed sneakers for a fair price. The entire range adheres to the company’s minimalist principles, using shape and proportion to help its offering stand out. The LT 01 is ETQ’s flagship model. It features a clean upper with a substantial sole and comes in several timeless colourways that will never go out of style. We particularly like the VEGEA® options – you would swear these sneakers had premium leather uppers but it’s actually a material created using wine waste and vegetable oil. We’ll drink to that. It’s impossible to overstate the impact Converse’s All Star sneaker has had on the world of footwear. The most popular and recognisable silhouette on the face of the earth, its century-plus history puts most other sports brands to shame. All of this from a shoe that’s about as technologically advanced as a wooden spoon. But therein lies the All Star’s beauty: sneakers don’t get simpler than this. It does everything it needs to, nothing it doesn’t and looks great in the process. In any conversation regarding the most iconic sneaker designs of all time, Adidas’ Stan Smith is bound to come up early on. This crisp, white tennis shoe has been a common sight on streets, courts and even the front row of fashion weeks for a long time.

This 10 Kitten shirt has brought me extraordinary joy. I’ve worn it as pajamas, as a dress and as part of my Happy Troll costume. The fabric is thick and the pics intrigue my little furballs. Thank you for making a shirt with magical cat attracting properties!

Well made, looks good as plain white t-shirt, excellently priced.
Nothing fancy, but a well made, inexpensive comfortable, mid to heavy weight plain white t-shirt. Floridians and those in warm climates might find it uncomfortable to wear as an undershirt– but perfect as a regular going around outside t-shirt year round. Heavier (and should be longer lasting) than a simple haines or jockey white thin undershirt. The white is very white, I am ordering grey today. I would buy these at double the price on Amazon.
