Students are judged and stereotyped every day!! Especially in smaller communities and smaller districts… just because you haven’t witnessed it first hand doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist

I have been on the receiving end of a cruel teachers comments Hope B-w. I’m happy you don’t know any who are like this but the fact is that there are a lot of not so nice educators out there and if you or they want to be respected then respect the students. I was devastated by what this teacher had said and it had lasting effects. If all educators were lovely respectful people you wouldn’t have to defend the job you do. it’s the reason I became a teacher. My grade 2 teacher shattered my self confidence for life. She did this because she had a daughter my age and didn’t want me to be better than her daughter.

I was placed in the “C group” and told that it was because I was stupid. Even at that age, I couldn’t understand why because I was the first child in my class who could read fluently. My daughter who was in grade 11 this year, has had to change her school because she was being bullied by a teacher because he didn’t want average and below average pupils in his classroom.Coats make me happy humans make my head hurt shirt I’ve taught in the UK and felt sorry for my colleagues because they are all wonderful and will never shatter a child’s self confidence. Sadly, in South Africa there are many bully teachers who don’t realise that they have the ability to make kids or break them. Thankfully I was able to change this for my daughter. She’s doing so well in her new school because she has kind teachers like you and I who care and actually teach our pupils
