Black Lives Matter Shirt

In celebration and acknowledgment of five years of the Black Lives Matter Global Network, we will release a Black Lives Matter Shirt of video shorts. BLM chapter leaders and organizers will bring you front line as they describe, first hand, the organization’s origins and our work felt deeply within our communities, throughout this organic network and around the world. Black Lives Matter please take your fight and hold your congressmen and senators accountable for not fighting for new laws against these racist policemen. Maxine Waters and all the rest fought tooth and nail for dreamers and their jailed children, yet they are quiet when it comes to black lives. This book is about a teen who becomes an activist after her friend is shot by the police. It’s beautifully written and I want to use it in my classroom. Education is the key to change. Please consider giving so I can facilitate a conversation with students about this important issue. I’m sure people have wondered why as a white woman i share the Black Lives Matter message.

 

Black Lives Matter Shirt

Well i have a brown skinned husband and brown skinned children that certainly matter to me. More than anything this is a world issue, a human issue. Regardless of skin tone no one should be gunned down in the street because they left their home. And no one in this country as the right to be judge, jury and executioner. The irony that is people saying I’m so sick of this topic like that will stop it, or simply being able to scroll past it at all. Not even understanding how great of an example it is of the privilege that people keep trying to explain. People of color, I’m pretty sure, are sick of it too. For an entirely different reason. They just don’t have the luxury of scrolling past, like they don’t have to live it, instead of merely reading about it on the internet. I get your point. I am just so weary of the hate, the Black Lives Matter Shirt debate. Doesn’t seem to be getting any better. I hear about it everywhere, and I have a specific newsfeed set up for funny parenting stuff, where I can just escape for a while. But now that is also turning into posts and debates and ugly remarks and hate.
