NCIS ad during Super Bowl suggests Ziva’s story isn’t over yet
Did Mark Harmon really say Ziva?
A Super Bowl promo for NCIS promised a big episode involving one of its most beloved — albeit long gone — characters.
In the Feb. 12 of NCIS titled “She,” the team finds a malnourished nine-year-old hiding in a storage unit, which leads them to re-open an old missing persons case that involved a lost daughter of a Navy recruit. In the process, Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) discovers notes that Special Agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) kept on the missing girl.
Will de Pablo return — if only in flashbacks — to help close this case for good? The promo promises to reveal a “big secret.”
De Pablo memorably left the drama in 2013. Her final episode at the end of season 11 featured her kissing Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) for the first — and possibly last — time. Two seasons later, fans learn that she had a daughter, Tali, with DiNozzo and was also apparently killed in a mortar attack arranged by former CIA agent Trent Kort. The team was told of her death, even though her remains were never found.
