Lil Nas X Puts a Yeehaw Spin on Wedding Style

If this summer has taught us anything, it’s that yeehaw style has no limits. Whether you’re in the south of France like Ciara, or attending Wimbledon like Rina Sawayama, there’s apparently no locale unfit for a cowboy boot. And Lil Nas X, who has positioned himself smack dab in the center of the Western wear trend, is stretching the limits of the genre even further. Lil Nas just took yeehaw style to a wedding, of all places (no, not his own).

At the nuptials of his Columbia A&R representative Wes Donehower’s this past weekend—which also happened to be the first wedding he’s ever been to, according to his Instagram caption—Lil Nas X wore a crisp black Phlemuns suit, a flashy B.B. Simon belt, and, of course, a pair of black-and-white cowboy boots to top it all off. Even if he added a bit of a ’90s R&B heartthrob flair with the turtleneck and chain combination worn underneath his jacket, Lil Nas X’s wedding attire proves that you can take cowboy boots anywhere—even to a black tie function.
