Lil Nas X Gives Cowboy Style a Very Glam Vegas Makeover

Everyone’s been leaning into yeehaw style as of late, regardless of their physical location. Ciara brought a black cowboy hat to Cannes, Rina Sawayama added a fringed twist to tennis whites at Wimbledon last week, and even Diplo is playing basketball in a canary yellow Nudie suit. But Lil Nas X is undeniably the master of the form. As his breakout hit “Old Town Road” makes clear, Lil Nas is unafraid to meld disparate sounds (it’s one of the most successful iterations of country-cum-trap to date), and this very same composite approach extends to his sense of style, too. He’ll pair a Western top with trendy cow print pants and accessorize with a puffer jacket (no shirt on underneath) and a bandana around his neck, plus a massive bolo tie.

His latest cowboy outfit, though, brings a touch of glamour to the Wild West. In Las Vegas over the weekend for an appearance at the Kaos nightclub, Lil Nas X added a glitzy sheen to his look, donning a sparkling bubblegum pink jacket, its sleeves lined with crystal fringe, along with a matching pair of pants. It’s a fitting Las Vegas twist on the yeehaw trend, but it also proves that there’s truly nowhere a fringed jacket won’t work—not even the club.
