When it comes to her recent music videos, Junglepussy has been showing off some impressive acting ability. Perhaps that makes sense, since the rapper starred in her very first film last year, playing the character of Danyelle in Andrew Bujalski’s critically acclaimed film, Support the Girl. Now it seems she’s drawing on her acting chops for her music videos. In her “Trader Joe” video from this summer, the New York-born rapper plays Ginger, a farm girl who wears a marabou-lined baby pink corset à la Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie (in their Simple Life days) as well as an anthropomorphized jungle cat that does justice to her moniker.
Junglepussy is continuing this animalistic streak in her new video for a just-released song, “Spiders.” In the Caity Renee-directed clip, which arrives just in time for Halloween, Junglepussy transforms into a spooky, many-eyed arachnid who traps men in her silky spiderweb. In classic Junglepussy fashion, she adds a sultry edge to it all thanks to the video’s BDSM-tinged wardrobe comprised of garments from New York-based designer Liv Mains and lingerie pieces by Savage Fenty. “Liv Mains has a sick leather collection,” Junglepussy says of the leather corset she donned from the brand. “I shared the mood board with Savage Fenty and they were down to get me some pieces in time.” With those sexy Fenty pieces in the mix, she might just convert some arachnophobes.
