We now live in a world where we can say that, yes, Gigi Hadid is capable of transforming herself into the spitting image of comedian Jim Carrey. Last night at Kendall Jenner’s Halloween party in New York City, Hadid wore a head-turning look from 1994 film The Mask. (Fun fact: Hadid was born a year after the film’s release.) The model did not come dressed as Cameron Diaz’s slinky, dress-wearing bombshell from the film, however, but rather the green-faced, freakish jokester that is “The Mask” himself: Hadid stepped out in the character’s iconic blazing yellow suit, a white button-up, a polka dot tie with a matching pocket square, and a wide-brim hat with a feather.
Although Hadid mimicked the look to a tee, she also managed to put a more high fashion spin on the outfit. While The Mask’s original pants had a wide-leg zoot suit silhouette, Hadid wore a more modern cropped incarnation by Iceberg that showed off her white bobby socks. In lieu of the original spectator shoes, she wore a pair of platform patent leather Derby shoes courtesy of the Prada Fall 2019 collection. Other details to note? Hadid’s pair of fist-size hooped earrings. And while The Mask’s original makeup was a simple slime-hued matte green, the model’s own version came camera-ready with highlighter. Not a bad way to stand out (and remain spooky) this Halloween.
