Yesterday, Louis Vuitton debuted its Spring 2020 collection during Paris Fashion Week—and the label’s front row was jam-packed with Nicolas Ghesquière’s biggest celebrity fans, including couple Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake (who rocked a man purse at that), Ruth Negga, Indya Moore, Chloë Moretz, and more. But one standout name in attendance was Cody Fern, who currently stars in American Horror Story: 1984. The Australian actor hit the step and repeat in a lacy look that cemented his status as a serious style star in the making.
His see-through lace top might have been a body-covering turtleneck, but it certainly wasn’t prudish. Freeing the nipple, Fern’s hint of skin reveal was the kind of bold styling move that a Fashion Week look demands, and the actor pulled it off flawlessly. Men in lace has become something of a trend lately, with fellow celebrities such as Sam Smith, Ezra Miller, and Swae Lee all getting on board with the dainty lace blouse. Fern styled his sizzling top with satiny trousers with a split hem, which showed off his square-toe boots, a footwear style that’s also bang on trend this season. To finish it off, asymmetrical earrings and a cylindrical purse—with Vuitton’s signature monogram print—gave his ensemble a modern, high-fashion feel.
The daring ensemble follows on from Fern’s many winning looks recently. Back in May, he freed the nipple (again) in a sheer top and suit by Maison Margiela. He’s also worn Margiela’s heeled Tabi boots on the red carpet, because there’s nothing better than a man in a heel. So, keep your eyes on this one, because his ambitious looks are only just getting started—and something tells me there will be many, many more winning ones to come.
