Alexa Chung Broke All the Festival Style Rules—and Won

The British It girl turned designer arrived at Glastonbury this afternoon just in time to catch sets by Rosaliá and Lauryn Hill and was wearing all white. In a gingham lined trench from her collaboration with outwear brand Barbour, a frilly slip dress, and croc stamped shoulder bag, Chung was the opposite of every festival dressing stereotype on the fields of Worthy Farm in Somerset.

Unlike Coachella where attention-seeking fashion reigns supreme, Glastonbury’s dress code has always been tied to the weather. Though the days of Kate Moss stomping through the mud in Hunter boots may be over, attendees do often steer clear of light colors, delicate fabrics, or anything else that might be ruined in a sudden downpour. With an all-weather coat shielding her ruffles and exotic purse, Chung indulged in the kind of unapologetically pretty vintage-influenced style she’s known for.
