Lynn and I were recalling several stories including one time when we went out to eat at a German Restaurant in El Paso. The young lady who was our server uncharacteristically was really rude especially to my buddy.

My buddy Lewis was more than impulsive back in those days especially when he got upset. As we were leaving he made it a point to personally hand each of the other servers a whopping $100 tip they were told not to share. Yeah he carried money like that around. Lewis had always had these occasional bouts of impulsive crazy behavior. When we were in the service Lewis went out and bought a fairly expensive pool cue with a beautiful case and extra shaft. I was in the day room shooting pool with one of our day room cues when he came in with his new cue and showed it off to me. He was really proud of it. He then said he wanted to play me for money. I actually was a fair player back in those days. I told him he didn’t want to play me for money because just the challenge of it would make me play my best.
