I’m surprised so many people refuse to recognize these negative aspects of Jack. I always considered his flaws a big part of the plot. He’s egotistical, selfish, and doesn’t listen to anyone around him. He’s so self absorbed in his own obsession, and he takes advantage of all of the people who look up to him.
